Outreach Newsletter 5

____________

Welcome to our Spring Term

Community Newsletter !!!

At Warminster School, our mission is to actively engage with our community, leveraging our resources and expertise to collaborate with state-funded schools, learn from them, and offer support to local, national, and international charitable organisations.

With this new newsletter, you can find out what the pupils have been up to, what we have planned and how we engage with the local community in Warminster

How Many Hours??

Since January the pupils from year 11 & our Sixth Form have been busy volunteering in numerous clubs during EDGE with a total of 1046 hours spent in our local community this year so far.

Dance Festival Update!!

The Minster School Dance Club had a fantastic afternoon performing at a local dance festival this term. The students showcased their hard work and talent brilliantly, and Izzy was there supporting them every step of the way. Well done Izzy!

New Warminster Swap Shop

Pupils have been volunteering at The HUB in Warminster to help set up a new weekly Swap Shop. This exciting initiative encourages the community to share, reuse, and reduce waste, while giving everyone the chance to pick up something new. We are proud of our pupils for their enthusiasm and commitment to supporting this valuable project.

MFL Support for local Primary Schools

This term, our MFL team—Miss Caine, Miss Alonso, and Lily have been running French and Spanish lessons at New Close Primary and St John’s Primary in Warminster, helping pupils build confidence and enthusiasm for languages while strengthening our local community links.

Art and Dementia

Ashwood Care Home has been with us since the start of the EDGE programme. Mrs. Woodyatt and a group of 6th-form pupils inspire the group each week with creative projects. Engaging in art helps people with dementia by boosting mood, sparking memories, and encouraging social connection

Courtyard Cub Nursery fun

At Warminster, learning stretches well beyond the classroom walls, and our EDGE programme brings this vision to life every week. Our pupils have been making a real difference, generously sharing their time and care with our Nursery and Reception classes. For our older pupils, giving back brings a sense of fulfillment and growth, while our youngest learners are delightfully benefiting from their support!

If you have any community projects within Warminster you think we could support or visit please do get in touch, I would love to hear from you.

I hope you have a restful Easter. I look forward to bringing you the next community newsletter at the end of the Summer Term
