Welcome to our second Community Newsletter !!! 

At Warminster School, our mission is to actively engage with our community, leveraging our resources and expertise to collaborate with state-funded schools & local community groups, to learn from them and offer support to local, national, and international charitable organisations. 

With this newsletter, you can find out what the pupils have been up to, what we have planned and how we engage with the local community in Warminster

How Many Hours??

Since September the pupils from year 11, 12 & 13, have been busy volunteering in numerous clubs during EDGE with a total of 4655 hours spent in our local community this year so far. 

Warminster Town Wellbeing HUB 

This term, we have started a new & exciting community project with the new Wellbeing HUB which has opened in Warminster. The HUB is a safe and multicultural space for the community to meet. Our pupils are running a board games club for local children to attend for free. Our pupils have also been singing, playing piano & supporting other children with languages skills.

Princecroft School Mentors

This term 2 of our 6th formers visited Princecroft Primary School and took a session around healthy eating and sports. The whole class got engaged in what foods are good for us & pupils designed food plates. This was followed by a very energetic sports sessions with hockey skills on show. Well done Tom & Evie

U3A Collaboration

Our local U3A group have become such a welcomed sight around school each Wednesday afternoon. We run a chess club, Debating group, Art sessions & Tai Chi. Now summer is just around the corner we will be bringing back the much awaited Croquet Club. Our pupils love meeting up with our visitors each week and sharing stories as well have having fun.

Charity Shops 

Warminster School pupils volunteer weekly in local charity shops as part of the school's EDGE programme. Pupils assist with retail tasks, gaining practical experience while supporting the shops' charitable missions. The school is grateful to the charity shops for their support and partnership, helping make a real difference in Warminster. 

THE BIG SLEEP OUT

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Warminster School hosted its inaugural Big Sleep Out in support of EveryYouth, a coalition of the UK's leading youth homelessness charities. The initiative aimed to raise awareness and funds for the estimated 129,000 young people facing homelessness across the country.

UK Space Agency 


Warminster School are taking part in a pilot scheme alongside 4 other UK Schools in the new CEOS programme. This initiative will demonstrate to pupils how satellite Earth Observation is used to address global issues such as climate change, environmental protection, and disaster management, while also allowing those students to experience the power of international collaboration 

Summer Time News 

As we head into the Summer term we are looking forward to the Minster Church Fete on Saturday the 21st June. This takes place on St Boniface Lawn, all funds raised go directly to the Minster Church. Come along & see our pupils in action manning stalls, singing and the School Orchestra will also be performing. The fete had become a really show stopped of the year, bringing the whole community together, young & old.
