Football at Warminster School has been on an incredible journey of growth and achievement in recent years. The 2022-23 season saw an unbeaten record with five wins and four draws from nine matches, setting a new benchmark for our First Team. Last season, despite challenging weather, the team emerged victorious more often than not, showcasing resilience and skill. This year, the team has taken it to the next level, earning a second-place spot in the league as it stands.

With opportunities like the Society of Heads Cup and external coaching from UEFA B-qualified professionals, our players are thriving. Two members of the current First XI are playing in the Western Counties Floodlit Youth League, the highest standard of U18 football in the South West. Warminster alumni are also making their mark globally, including a former player who has gone from an unbeaten season with us to playing football in Dubai and earning a spot as an NCAA athlete in the USA.

What Football Means to Our Pupils

Our Head Boy and First Team Captain shared his thoughts on what football means to him and the significance of a new kit:

"After having to wait until Year 11 to choose football, I now cherish every match I get to play in. We went unbeaten in the first season I was involved in. The next year we had a much harder fixture list and came away with good results, and each year we have built a stronger team and are growing in ability and confidence. Currently, we are competing at the highest level Warminster football has in years, being invited to tournaments by other schools and putting Warminster’s football back in favour. With a very active Instagram and a team that is getting better every year, a new kit would mean so much to all the boys in the team so that we can mark this new era of football at Warminster with something meaningful that we can also pass on to future players."
