We are thrilled to announce that Max F has been selected for the England U16 Hockey Squad, marking a significant milestone in his hockey journey. Max’s dedication and talent have shone through, leading him to this opportunity.

Max’s journey began with a rigorous trial for the Talent Academy process, where he showcased his skills and determination. His exceptional performance earned him the role of goalkeeper at the National Talent Academy Festival in Nottingham, where he caught the attention of coaches and selectors. This early recognition was just the beginning for Max, as he went on to train and be assessed at the renowned National Sports Centre in Lilleshall.

During the Academy Festival, Max excelled, which led to invitations for two additional three-day camps and a final assessment day. These sessions involved extensive training, observation, and the remarkable opportunity to compete against the GB Women’s Senior side, further honing his skills and experience.

After thorough evaluation by the coaching staff, Max emerged as one of the three goalkeepers selected from across all England talent academies and open trials—a testament to his hard work and exceptional abilities.

As he prepares to don the England jersey, Max will receive top tier coaching and the chance to participate in the Four Nations tournament, as well as travel and play internationally. This experience will not only enhance his skills but also provide invaluable exposure to the international hockey scene.

Jeremy Evans, Head of Hockey, expressed his enthusiasm: “Max has worked incredibly hard with his coaches at TeamBath and at school, and we are delighted for him and his recent success. He is a fantastic role model for all the young aspiring goalkeepers at Warminster, and we can’t wait to see him represent England later this season.”

We are immensely proud of Max’s achievements and look forward to witnessing his growth and success on the international stage. Congratulations, Max – your journey has just begun, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
