Warminster is buzzing with pride following the achievements of Year 8 pupil, Ellie S. Over the recent half-term break, Ellie represented the Enchanté Baton Twirlers Team at the National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA) National Championships in Torbay. In a breathtaking display of talent and skill, Ellie clinched four national titles, making history as one of the standout performers of the competition.
Over the span of five days packed with intense competition, Ellie showcased her exceptional abilities in the freestyle routine, solo baton routine, artistic dance, and pair routine. Her dedication and hard work culminated in an astonishing feat that saw her not only compete but triumph in events typically dominated by older athletes.
Ellie’s achievements are particularly noteworthy given that she is the youngest member of the elite Enchante Baton Twirlers Team, with all her teammates being over 16. Her success at such a young age is a testament to her talent and determination, as well as her commitment to her sport.
The National Baton Twirling Association England is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting and advancing baton twirling and its associated activities. They aim to provide athletes, coaches, judges, parents, and corps directors with a comprehensive program of events that fosters competition and camaraderie at all levels. As an affiliate of the International Baton Twirling Federation (IBTF), NBTA England opens doors for athletes like Ellie to compete not only nationally but also at prestigious international competitions.
Dave Lyons, Director of Sport commented “Ellie’s triumph at the NBTA National Championships serves as an inspiration to her peers and a shining beacon of what can be achieved with hard work and determination. We are incredibly proud of Ellie and and we look forward to supporting her as she continues to pursue her passion for baton twirling”.
Congratulations once again, Ellie!
