A PERFECT EPQ

Warminster Sixth Formers are well known for their generous actions when it comes to offering a helping hand and giving up their time to support charities or organisations close to their heart. Musical Sixth Former, Alex Moxham, is no exception and this year is putting his EPQ to good use to support Dorothy House Hospice.

Alex explains, “First envisioned in Summer 2023, Perfect 5th first performed at the Sixth Form Winter Ball, then at Cabaret in 2024. There we realised that we needed a concert to ourselves, due to the amount of music we wanted to play. Since then, we have built a large repertoire of Jazz and Funk music including many covers of popular songs. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our upcoming concert in support of Dorothy House Hospice. As part of my EPQ project, we’re combining passion for music with a cause close to everyone’s hearts. Dorothy House provides vital palliative care and support to individuals and their families during challenging times, and we’re committed to helping them continue their incredible work in the community.”

The evening takes place on the 12th October and it promises to be a great evening! We are also thrilled to welcome back several OVs as both performers and guests. The audience will enjoy a delightful evening featuring a two-course meal, a charity raffle, and a bar throughout the night. Tickets open on 13th September.

Mr Bridges, Director of Music, commented, “Alex has shown great initiative and independence in setting up his band, Perfect 5th, playing music which is specially arranged for this ensemble. The Extended Project Qualification is a qualification which Warminster pupils are encouraged to take. It’s equivalent of half an A Level, promotes independent learning and involves investigating a topic of choice in depth. It’s usually a substantial piece of work and can be in the form of a dissertation, extensive investigation, performance, or event. We are incredibly proud of Alex for taking on the EPQ and supporting this worthy cause. We look forward to an excellent evening of musical entertainment. Please support if you can!”

Perfect 5th cannot wait to see you on Saturday, October 12th!
