The Dorothy House Charity Run brought together the school community in a festive celebration of goodwill.  Lisa Cook, Warminster School’s Community Outreach Co-Ordinator commented “It’s so wonderful to see the Prep School & Senior School come together to raise much needed funds for Dorothy House.  Dorothy House has supported some of our pupils, parents and staff in the past, so it is a much-loved charity too so many. The total raised this year was £4658”

The Charity Run has become a tradition at Warminster School, with all the pupils getting their running shoes on & each proudly wearing the unmistakable elf hat. Emily from Dorothy House said “Dorothy House has been organising the fabulously festive Elf Run for the last four years.  Over this time our Christmas event has raised an incredible £59,000.  We are just over the moon to have such amazing support from local schools and nurseries!  This year we have 20 groups signed up, with 3,351 fabulous children and teachers putting on their elf hats and running, jogging, and walking for Dorothy House.  We’re so proud to have this incredible support from our amazing youth and are really excited to have Warminster School on board again this year”.

The Charity Run served as a fundraising initiative for Dorothy House, a local charity providing invaluable palliative and end-of-life care. Every participant that crossed the finish line with their elf hat contributed to the charity's mission, raising funds that will directly impact the lives of individuals facing challenging times.

Beyond the charitable aspect, the event emphasized the importance of community spirit. Pupils came together to share in the joy of the season, elf hats creating a sea of festive colours. The event provided a perfect opportunity for pupils to connect, creating lasting memories against the backdrop of twinkling lights and a sense of celebration.

As the Charity Run at Warminster School continues to grow in popularity, it underscores the school community's commitment to supporting local charities. Events like these not only raise funds but also serve as a reminder of the power of collective action and the impact it can have on the lives of those in need.

In the true spirit of the season, this year's Dorothy House Charity Run at Warminster School has once again demonstrated that a school united can make a significant difference. As the last participant, elf hat proudly in place, crossed the finish line, the echoes of laughter lingered, leaving behind a trail of goodwill and a sense of celebration that will undoubtedly resonate throughout the pupil community for weeks to come.
