We had the privilege of hosting the phenomenal Sara Symington, OV at our 50th Anniversary of Co-Education Gala Dinner.
Sara Symington, an esteemed alumni of Warminster School, graced our event as a guest speaker, and her words left us all in awe. As the Head of Olympic & Paralympic Programmes for British Cycling, Sara's journey to success has been nothing short of extraordinary.
During her speech, Sara shared insights into her illustrious career, which includes serving as the Performance Director for British Athletics and overseeing the Olympic, Paralympic, and high-performance programmes leading up to the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Her diverse career path also includes pivotal roles in England Netball, Archery GB, and UK Sport.
Sara's own sporting accomplishments are truly remarkable, having represented Great Britain in both triathlon and cycling, including participation in two Olympic Games and two Commonwealth Games in road cycling. She's a multiple world championships medalist in road and track cycling and was the first female to podium at World Cup level for Great Britain in 1998.
Even outside her demanding career, Sara continues to push boundaries, taking on endurance-based sports like half ironmans, adventure races, and providing individualized coaching.
Sara was truly inspiring, and her story serves as a shining example of what dedication, passion, and determination can achieve.
