From September 2026, the Prep School will move ‘over the road’ to the Senior School campus, bringing the whole school community together on one site and strengthening the spirit of “one school” that lies at the heart of Warminster. For many Old Verlucians, this change will be particularly meaningful, especially those who attended St Monica’s School, which was located on the current Prep School site.

The Prep School will be based in Weymouth House, with the Nursery relocating to the current Health & Wellbeing Hub. Over the coming months, families will be invited to information events, tours of the new spaces, and open forums so that everyone has the opportunity to ask questions, share thoughts, and feel part of shaping this next stage in the School’s story.

This decision comes at a time of significant challenge within the independent sector, and it will provide long-term financial stability through the eventual sale of the current Prep site and various operational efficiencies. However, the educational benefits are just as important. Being together on one campus will give our youngest pupils easier access to specialist facilities, allow for greater collaboration between staff across all phases, and create a more seamless educational journey from Nursery right through to Sixth Form.

Speaking about the development, Headmaster Matt Williams said: “This move places our children at the centre of our decision-making. It will strengthen their sense of belonging, support their well-being, and ensure they have the best opportunities to thrive.”

Chair of Governors and Old Verlucian, Beverley Sunderland added: “Bringing our schools closer together supports a vibrant, unified community and secures Warminster’s future for generations to come.”
