Dedicated to Warminster School, all profits from the book will go directly to the 1707 Bursary Fund. Our 1707 Bursary Fund continues to unlock futures – not just for today, but for generations to come- Watch an interview with Bev here
Giants and Dragons tells the story of siblings Jack and Rosie, who attend a very special school where every child is encouraged to discover their unique talents. During a holiday with their aunt and uncle, the pair stumble upon the History Keepers, guardians of the History Gate – the only barrier preventing the Dark Forces from travelling back in time to alter the past.
Beverley is relaunching this second edition of Giants and Dragons as a way of giving back to the School that, she says, shaped her future: “Warminster taught me that nothing is impossible. This was the inspiration for the History Gate novels, and I wanted to thank the School for everything they did for me – and give as many children as possible the chance to have that same experience. A recent visitor said that Warminster puts the ‘Warm’ in Warminster’ and I could not agree more.”
After eight happy years at Warminster, Beverley went on to university, qualified as a solicitor and later founded one of the UK’s leading employment law firms. Beverley has been our Chair of Governors for the past three years.
Headmaster, Matt Williams, said: “Warminster School is all about community, and Beverley’s generosity captures that spirit perfectly. To have an Old Verlucain, and now our Chair of Governors, dedicate her book and all profits to the 1707 Bursary Fund is a wonderful example of Warminster in action. We are a school where every pupil matters; everyone is recognised, respected and celebrated, whatever their individual talents might be.”
