It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the recent passing of Sunny Yang, a beloved member of the Warminster School community and a valued Old Verlucian (OV '24). Sunny’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing them.
To honour Sunny’s memory, we invite you to join us for a memorial service at St Boniface Chapel on Monday, 10th March at 1.15 pm. This gathering will provide an opportunity for our community to come together, remember, and celebrate Sunny’s life.
Service Details:
Date: Monday, 10th March
Time: 1.15 pm
Location: St Boniface Chapel, Warminster School
During the service, we will also share a beautiful poem written by Anna Maltin, which honours Sunny’s memory -
Finding Yourself in Heaven
On earth, you wandered, lost in the haze,
A soul adrift through life’s endless maze.
Each day seemed heavy, the sky always grey,
Searching for joy that seemed far away.
The world spun around you, but you couldn’t find
A place for your heart, a peace for your mind.
You tried to be strong, but the weight was too much,
Longing for meaning, a gentle touch.
Then came the call, so soft, so clear,
A whisper of hope that you could hear.
You closed your eyes and let go of the fight,
Drifted beyond the dark of night.
And there, in the stillness, you found your way,
A new dawn broke with the promise of day.
In heaven, you blossomed, a spirit set free,
In the warmth of love, you found who you’d be.
No longer lost in the shadows of earth,
You found your true self, your radiant worth.
In heaven’s embrace, joy filled the air,
A place of peace where you’d always care.
Now you walk in the light of all you’ve become,
A soul unburdened, whole and free, and home.
