In a heartening display of community collaboration, the Warminster School Tech Club recently partnered with the Avenue Surgery and the Civic Centre to host an NHS App support session. Participants not only received invaluable assistance in uploading and understanding the NHS App but also experienced firsthand the power of collective efforts in fostering digital literacy and healthcare accessibility within the community.
The success of the support session lay in its dedication to providing personalised assistance to every visitor. Regardless of age or technological knowledge, everyone received one-on-one guidance from the Tech Club members. This approach ensured that no question went unanswered, and no obstacle remained insurmountable. Through patient instruction and hands-on support, participants gained the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the NHS App with confidence.
"As we reflect on the impact of the NHS App support session, we are reminded of the transformative potential that arises when communities come together to address common challenges. By leveraging technology and fostering collaboration, we can create a more inclusive and accessible healthcare system. When Warminster comes together, we really can make a difference to people’s everyday lives. It was a pleasure to be able to support our local Avenue Surgery and a big thank you to the Civic Centre for their ongoing support of our Tech Club" Lisa Cook, Warminster School Community Outreach Co-ordinator
Vicky Radford, from the Living Well Team, based at the Avenue Surgery said "What an absolute delight to see such positive interaction between the older and young members of the Warminster community. The surgery was impressed with the uptake of the NHS APP by the community and greatly appreciates and values the assistance afforded by Warminster School. The surgery would like to record its thanks to all those taking part. The feedback we have received is extremely positive with the event being described as both incredibly useful and enjoyable. The surgery would like to continue working with Warminster School on a repeat and similar event”.
