Warminster is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our 2025 International Baccalaureate (IB) cohort, which has achieved a 100% pass rate across both the Diploma and Career-Related Programmes. This year’s results reflect the dedication, hard work, and global-mindedness that define the IB experience at Warminster. From bilingual diplomas to top UCAS points and university offers from Oxford to Amsterdam, our pupils are now well-equipped to take on the next exciting chapter.
The 2025 IB cohort of 24 pupils was the largest we have enjoyed at Warminster for a number of years and they have achieved a fantastic 100% pass rate, significantly outperforming the UK average of around 94% and the global average of around 80%. The UCAS points average for the 24 strong cohort was 168, equivalent to roughly A*A*A* at A level. This achievement included 1 pupil being awarded their Career-Related Programme Certificate, 2 pupils receiving single subject Certificates, 7 pupils receiving full Diplomas, and 14 pupils receiving Bilingual Diplomas (having completed the IB programme in their second language).
Henry Williams scored a hugely impressive 40 IB points out of a possible 45 which, in UCAS terms, is equivalent to around A*A*A*A B at A Level and has secured him his place at the University of Oxford to read Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics before commencing his military training at Sandhurst. Faustine Hamon also scored a brilliant 37 IB points, as well as Ed Hunnibell on 34, and Angelina Gutteridge, Moritz Bischof and Sam Milner-Smith on 33.
These IB results are fully deserved and will allow our IB pupils to move on to the next stage of their lives, whether that be an exciting gap year or continuing their studies at top UK and European universities including King’s College London, Exeter, Newcastle, Amsterdam, McGill, Innlandet, and East 15 Acting School.
IB Coordinator, Simon Hall, said “We are immensely proud of our pupils for their achievements in this year’s IB examinations. Their results are a true reflection of their commitment, resilience, and determination throughout their studies. The IB programme is globally respected for its rigorous academic framework and its focus on critical thinking, inquiry, creativity, service, and global awareness. Our pupils have consistently demonstrated these attributes, and their success is thoroughly deserved. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to our outstanding IB teaching staff. Their dedication, knowledge, and steadfast support have been crucial in helping our students reach their academic and personal goals. Attaining the IB Diploma is a remarkable accomplishment for each individual, but it is also the result of a collaborative journey shared by the entire IB community, both pupils and educators. It has been a privilege to be part of that team. To all of our IB pupils, I wish you the very best as you move on from Warminster School, ready to face the world as thoughtful, informed, and compassionate citizens.”
Headmaster, Matt Williams said: “Yet again, our IB cohort have done us proud with some outstanding results and a 100% pass rate that is considerably above both the UK and International figures. With destinations such as the University of Oxford, King’s College London, Exeter, and Newcastle, as well as top institutions overseas, our pupils have demonstrated a drive and rigour that is both impressive and illustrative of Warminster’s strong academic core.”
